John Elzer: ML and Automated Value Recognition from an Image of an LCD Display
Perth Machine Learning Group – John Elzer: ML and Automated Value Recognition from an Image of an LCD Display
Recorded on 6 December 2018 at Tank Stream Labs Perth.
“Reading LCD displays can be a time and cost intensive task especially when people need to be transported to remote locations. The solution is to automate this process with machine learning. Our university project was aimed at producing a proof of concept to locate and read LCD displays. Using Matlabs Machine Learning toolkit, imagemagick and tesseract we were able to achieve this.
John Elzer is a computer science graduate from the University of Western Australia.”
