Join us as we welcome EY to Morning Startup to discuss in depth early stage innovation incentives available to fund & accelerate your start-ups growth.

New Early Stage ‘Angel’ Investor Incentives will come into effect from 1 July. EY will share insights and practicalities to ensure that you are ‘capital raise ready’.

With the end of the financial year upon us, they will also share tips on how to maximise and substantiate your FY 16 claim under the R&D Tax Incentive program.

Kate Meares – R&D Tax Partner

Kate is a Partner within EY’s National Research and Development (R&D) practice, specialising in strategically focused R&D tax incentive claims.

A Chartered Accountant with more than 14 years’ experience, her expertise includes company formation and structuring, best practice accounting, technology/ IP management, commercialisation, growth funding and startup acceleration.

Kate is known for her ability to quickly evaluate and understand a client’s business to deliver immediate cash benefits particularly through R&D incentives and data analytics.

She is committed to working with early stage companies and her focus includes assisting companies that are ‘capital raise ready’ to leverage the new Early Stage Investment Incentives available from 1 July.

Kate is a champion of innovation and entrepreneurship at EY, including her involvement in EY’s Entrepreneur of the Year program.

Kate Griffiths – R&D Senior Manager

Kate is a member of EY’s National Innovation Team, with 10 years professional experience, specialising in R&D tax incentives and other grant funding.

A passionate supporter of local technology entrepreneurship, Kate is working with Perth’s startup community to mentor, advise, connect and accelerate technology start-ups.

She has extensive experience working with early stage companies from formation and structuring, through to commercialisation.

Kate assists companies to fund their growth through a range of grants and incentives including the R&D Tax Incentive, the Export Market Development Grant and Accelerating Commercialisation.

Recently, she has also been assisting both startups and investors to navigate the new Early Stage Investment Incentives.

Kate is also a representative of EY’s Entrepreneur of the Year program and is always on the lookout
