Fireside chat with Alex Vitale (Project Manager at Foodchain)

Here’s a video interview with Alex Vitale, Project Manager at Foodchain.

Foodchain helps to improve organisation and transparency of the food supply chain, by using blockchain technology to trace products from origin straight through to the final consumer.

The monitoring of the entire process and the quality control of the product is real-time and is shareable between all the actors of the chain via computer or smartphone.

Blockchain is a public, distributed and decentralised ledger, where information is encrypted and stored in a tamper-proof and secure way. Once data is entered into the system and validated, it becomes unalterable. Thanks to IoT (Internet of Things) devices it is possible to implement traceability that covers each phase of the supply chain including production, logistics and distribution.

Recorded on 23 January 2020 at Startup Grind Perth.
